Global steel scrap demand down by 13pct in 2009

According to a new report hailed as the first of its kind to be published by the Bureau of International Recycling, global demand for steel scrap fell by 13.2% in 2009 as the economic and financial crisis caused steel production worldwide to drop by 7.9%.
