Norilsk nickel output may rise, other metals stagnate

Russia's Norilsk Nickel, the world's largest producer of nickel and palladium, said on Monday that it may see a modest recovery in nickel output this year, while palladium, platinum and copper could continue to decline.
The Russian metals giant, which takes its name from the mining town above the Arctic circle, reported a slight gain in nickel output at its Kola and Polar units within Russia, which partially offset a decline in its international operations.
